In these many years of studying overseas, I must admit that this is the first time where I had friends sending me off at the airport. Joseph and Lionel were there, musing over how late I had arrived to check-in. Though that was not totally unexpected, since during the previous night they had been somewhat conspirational over msn. Jane however, was not present, having gone on a school camp to Taman Negara (the lucky little bugger)! This time's another record-breaker... 62 kg, 3 check-in luggages, 2 hand-carry pieces. Slept some, watched a few movies, read some, and zzz-ed through the journey.
Yay... have moved into Emperor's Gate. :) It's not the same... living (at the mo) with different people. I'm not saying that I don't like it; people just need more time to adjust and make something out of it. Chin's here, Fidel's here, but none from my usual gang. All those internal jokes... those habits and phrases we've picked up from one another and from the common activities we engage in... bahh... they're not fun anymore. No-one understands. I just keep the grins to myself... make mental notes, but never say them out loud.
First night in, and I'm already settled. I guess some of these things - the packing and unpacking, the organisation of belongings, the clearing of the suitcases - come more easily the more you do it. This being the 14th time, it wasn't any fuss at all. But... I have become too competent and over-confident in my one-day preparation. This time round I've forgotten my laundry bag (which has been following me for 4 years), my nailclipper (it went missing anyway) and I've this insecure sensation that there's something else. I've also a feeling that I haven't gotten back all my boxes from the cellar downstairs... can't find my shower basket, my toiletries, the batt charger, and the iron.
I've tomorrow to do the necessary for my household and to get ready for the field trip. The telephone outlet needs an adapter, the floors need mopping, cupboards need dusting... and we need a proper broom. At first I planned to go to sch to get connected to the internet but it seems like I don't need to do that anymore. However wrong this might sound... I'm currently stealing some friendly neighbour's connection. There's no harm in trying the 'search for a network connection' option wherever you are... you'd never know. Ooo... don't you just love wireless technology. ;)
Time to finish up my now-cold BK burger and go to bed.
