Yess! Yes!! YESSS!!! w00t... !!
One might be familiar with those scenes in movies where a person punches the air triumphantly and jumps up yelling "YES!"... well... that just happened to me.
It's amazing what one line of code can do... when you've got it right. That brought me one stride forward... but there are still many tiny barriers in the way. I'm now staring at another one of them. When there are thousands of lines of codes, there's bound to be errors... they're very simple ones (a programmer could take a one-second look at it, snap his fingers and type in the solution...) but takes me ages to solve.
At least, I've less to tackle now, having discovered the huge potential of Content Management Systems (CMSes). Rather than needing me to steal others' codes and tweak them - greatly - for my purposes... and wreck my brain and poor Google to search for 'How To' tips on integrating databases and all that... I've now turned to
Mambo Open Source for my web-building needs. ;) Saves a lot of trouble.
www.apyen.org's website has been given a new look once again. And this time, it'll stay. Still working steadily on it.
On a similar front... in an attempt to upgrade my laptop's programmes and all... I'm on the verge of abandoning my Opera browser for Mozilla Firefox. Reviews have all given it top notch ratings... and I'm keen to give it a go.
